Oakham is a lovely traditional market town with plenty of shopping and lots to see, pop to the market on a Wednesday or Saturday.
You can visit Oakham castle , Rutland County Museum, Rutland Farm Park and plenty of cafes , bars and restaurants.

5 miles away is Rutland Water which provides great places to walk and plenty of activies including Rock climbing, water sports, mini golf , bird watching, fishing, man made beach area for relaxing and barbequing , Rutland zoo, seasonal aquapark or take a ride on the Rutland belle!

Other places to visit include the towns of Stamford or Uppingham only a short drive away.
Burghley House , Belvoir Castle, Belton House, Grimsthorpe Castle , Rockingham Castle, Deene park, Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre, Barnsdale Gardens, Rocks by Rail are all worth a visit.
